I am unsure what type of service I need

There are several different types of services that can be applied to a notary, which include:

  • Acknowledgment - An acknowledgment is made in the presence of a Notary Public, and the signer must acknowledge that it was signed for the purpose stated in the document. This document DOES NOT have to be signed in the notary's presence.

  • Jurat - The signer must take an oath to swear or affirm that the document is correct to the best of their knowledge. This document MUST be signed in the presence of the notary. The notary cannot notarize the document if it is completed before the signing session.

  • Verification - The signer must take an oath to swear or affirm the statements in the document. This document DOES NOT have to be signed in the notary's presence.

  • Certifications - A written statement by the notary certifying the facts of a document. Only non-recordable documents can be certified, which means documents that any governmental agency can record can not be certified.
